Aims

To equip the students with the necessary skills to carry out a successful project, and make a short presentation.

Use of Library, bibliographic searching, use of internet, LaTeX, compiling a bibliography, presentations, mathematical writing.

How to use the library, how to compile a bibliography, how to use L^ATEX, how to make a presentation, how to write a dissertation.

Details of Assessment

There is no examination for this module. The module assessment will be as follows: 10% for a short presentation, 30% for completion of a mathematical word-processing exercise, and 60% for completion of a small dissertation. For students on the M.Math. degree in Computational Mathematics, the dissertation will be on topics in logic and discrete mathematics required for later computer science modules.
